Josef started his musical career in '98 when he joined a "synth pop" band in the likes of Depeche Mode, New Order and other dance oriented bands of that era. Shortly after he learned the art of DJing, he moved to North Carolina in '91 and took up residency at Club Neo in Fayetteville whre he incorporated new wave, industrial and early techno under the name DJ Q. He also combined forces with other DJ's & promoters from surrounding northeast and southeast states to put on "one off" parties. In 93' he started his 2nd residency at a club the Treehouse in Chaleston, South Carolina. By '95 he moved back to Southern California, where he continued his production and DJing moving into progressive breaks and tech house, contributing to Phonomental Music, Fragrant Records & Painted Puppy under both Josef Plante and Auratone with partner Greg Koller as well as forming D.U.V. Records.
