Dubbed "San Diego's turntable icon for almost a decade" in the February '99 DJ issue of Raygun Magazine, B-Side, aka Ben Hebel, began his career at the age of 19 (and now has 15 years of professional experience under his belt). He was voted "San Diego's top DJ" by the San Diego Union Tribune in 2000, and has been making waves and gaining worldwide respect in the breaks community for his skills on the turntables, as well as his production efforts. Having traveled to nearly 35 cities and 3 countries, Ben has rocked crowds of 200 to 40,000, and has spun along side many of the big name DJs and live acts of today. For the past 6 plus years, B has run his own club night, Dragon Lounge, which is regarded by many to be the premiere Breakbeat/D'n'B club in Southern California. He has been personally responsible for bringing some of the main players in both the Nu-Skool Breaks and the Drum 'n' Bass communities to San Diego and his extensive knowledge of Breakbeat music earned him the continued position of URB magazine's BREAKS editor three years ago.
